This five day visit to Mountain Elgon National Park heads you to the Eastern part of Uganda for the hike of Mountain Elgon starting from the ground up to its Peak particularly using the Sasa trail.

Day 1: Kampala – Budadiri to Sasa Camp

Early in the morning after your breakfast our Safari guide will pick you from your hotel of residence and start the journey from Kampala to Eastern Uganda via Kampala- Jinja-Mbale highway and then to Budadiri. Sasa trail which leaves from Budadiri is considered to be the simplest and fastest way of hiking this Mountain.

You will reach Budadiri in the morning, near Mbale town, at the gate of Mountain Elgon National Park. Usually a walk to Sasa River Camp/camping site is done for the dinner and overnight, distance moved is about 8km and takes average of 7 to 8 hours.

Day 2: We move from Sasa camp to Mude Camp

Early in the morning after breakfast at the camping site, you proceed with the hiking journey through the forest to the summit base camp known as Mude Cave Campsite for dinner and overnight stay. The summit is about 600m of elevation taking 4-5 hours for the Walk.

Day 3: Continue from Mude Camp to Wagagai Peak and Return

Early in the morning after your delicious breakfast at the campsite you continue with the walk through the moorland zone up to the main peak known as Wagagai peak for an experience and after return to Mude campsite for dinner and overnight after a great adventure experience of reaching at the Peak.

On descending back from the Peak, you have the option of returning by the Sasa Trail or you head onwards across the caldera as you may wish or according to interests of adventure.

Day 4: Descend from Mude Camp back to Budadiri

Early in the morning after your breakfast at the Campsite, descend from Mude campsite back to Budadiri and on this journey you are exposed to different Wildlife species and nice scenic views

Day 5: Transfer to Jinja- Kampala.

Early in the morning have your breakfast and after set off for Jinja heading to the source of the Nile River for some exciting activities like boat cruise, swimming, also see where the Nile and Lake Victoria merge from. Have Lunch at the Sunset Hotel in Jinja town.

Later in the afternoon after good moments in Jinja you will drive back to Kampala for check in at hotel of residence or the driver will drive you straight to Entebbe international airport in case you have a return flight back home.
