DAY 1: Entebbe Airport and transfer to Hotel in Entebbe / Kampala

DAY 2: The Source of the River Nile
After breakfast drive to Jinja, this is the past most industrialized town in Uganda. Have a stop over at Bibbo village to pay a visit to the Sezibwa falls formed by the only Human born river Sezibwa. Later drive to Jinja. The Asian quarters, the brewery industries and the colorful gardens are one of the enroute attractions you can see on the drive. Visit the true Source of the Nile where the Biblical Nile emerges from Lake Victoria marking the starting point of its 6400 miles journey that ends in the Mediterranean Sea as well as Gandhi monument. Proceed to the Bujagali Falls to view the spectacular rapids on the river Nile a few kilometers from the source.

Day 3: White water Rafting
Spend the whole day trying the unforgettable emotion of the white water rafting on the World high grade rapids of the Mighty Nile-the World’s second longest river. Have lunch at the Bujagali falls. Dinner and Overnight at Jinja Nile Resort / Nile high Adrift Camp
Day 4: Jinja – Fort portal
In the morning we will be picked from the hotel and depart by road to Kibale National Park stopping for lunch on the way, we shall continue Southwest wards through the town located in the shadow of the mythical Mountains of the Moon. Kibale National Park is one of the most beautiful and stunning forests in Uganda. It is home tour our closest relatives – the endangered Chimpanzee. The forest also boasts of having one of the highest diversity and density of primates in Africa totaling 12 species that include the threatened Red Colobus monkey, I’hoesti monkey Blue monkey, Grey Cheeked, Velvet and the Black / White Colobus monkeys. An evening to relax at your Hotel.

Day 5: Kibale Forest National Park – Chimp trekking
After an early breakfast, proceed to Kibale Forest National Park head Quarters for Chimpanzee trekking. While on the track you will be able to encounter other different primate species which include Red-Colobuses, grey cheeked Mangabeys, black-and-white colobus monkeys, the blues as well as other wildlife such as butterflies, birds and many other small insects. Your tour guide will guide you through tree identification in the forest as well as in explaining to you the other features of the forest. After tracking return to the lodge for lunch after which you will take a nature walk through the Bigodi Swamp. On the walk different birds and mammals can be seen. Day 6: Kibale – Mountains of the Moon
Depart by road for Rwenzori Mountains of the Moon, arrival at Kasese to start your shopping for the Hike, Transfer to Hotel / Campsite for your Dinner and Overnight at Margherita Hotel in Kasese / proceed to the Rwenzori Park head for Overnight and Dinner at Rwenzori Base Camp Guest House / Ruboni Community Campsite.
Day 7: Nyabitaba Hut (2650m).
Early in the morning, after having a cup of coffee, drive to Nyakalengija trailhead (1600m). Meet porters and guides and begin hiking up to Nyabitaba hut. Walk through the matooke / Banana plantations on the side of the steep foothills, past the local Bakonjo homesteads. Continue with the trail along the Mubuku River, through landslides. After crossing the Mahoma River, climb steeply through bracken fern slopes and Podocarpus forest to Nyabitaba Hut. Dinner and Overnight at Nyabitaba Hut.
Day 8: John Matte Hut (3350m).
From Nyabitaba follow the trail that drops down through the forest to the Kurt Shafer Bridge, just below the confluence of the Mubuku and Bujuku rivers. Passing through the bamboo forest, traverse through a long and exhausting stretch of slippery moss-covered rock. From the Nyamileju rock shelter, Mount Stanley and Mount Speke can be seen before passing into the zone of the giant heather, lobelia and groundsel. Finally reach John Matte Hut after passing through the tiring bog, for Dinner and Overnight at the Hut.
Day 9: Bujuku Hut
From John Matte Hut the trail drops down to cross the Bujuku River and enters Lower Bigo Bog, the home of giant lobelias. Jumping from tussock to tussock, the bog is finally crossed but rarely without the feet sampling some of the freezing ooze below. The Upper Bigo bog gives way to Bujuku Lake, with views of Mt Baker to the South and Mt Stanley to the West. Bujuku Hut, well located in the shadow of Mount Baker and Mount Speke, is set in a narrow valley below Stuhlmann Pass. Dinner and overnight at the hut.
Day 10: Elena Hut (4541m).
Leaving Bujuku, the trail takes you through more bog, while climbing the steep slopes west of the lake and through the magical Groundsel Gully as it ascends to Scott-Elliot Pass at 4372m. At the head of the gully a metal ladder takes you over a steep section after which the trail is divided into two. The trail on your right leads up to Elena Hut and Mount Stanley on a steep trail over large boulders, while the trail on your left leads to Scott-Elliot Pass and down to Kitandara Lakes. Day 11: Margherita peak
For those aiming at reaching Margherita peak (5109m), continue to the base of the Stanley Glacier. To reach the summit of Margherita, the climb takes about 5-7 hours depending on the weather conditions and the pace of climbing this mountain. This tough walk takes you over three glaciers, slippery rock, ice and very exposed areas which are open on many sides. Note that this climb is for only physically fit and technical climbers. Climbing on to the glaciers, cross the Stanley Plateau and proceed with the ascent. Acclimatized to fog, altitude sickness and coolly weather, scramble up to the summit of Margherita the highest peak of the Rwenzoris. Given the high altitude and the tough conditions even if you do not reach the peak, don’t get disappointed. Prepare for you return through the Scott-Elliot pass, where there are spectacular views back to Bujuku Lake and Mount Speke, up to Mount Stanley and down to the Kitandara Lakes. After the trail that passes you through an alpine zone of sparse vegetation and rough boulders, descend past the Kitandara Lakes for dinner and overnight at the Kitandara Hut.
Day 12: Guy Yeoman Hut (3260m)
From Kitandara, take on the trail that ascends steeply up the headwall, spreading out from the base of Mount Baker and continuing along the south side of the mountain to Fresh field Pass. At this point you can view into the Congo to the west and Mount Stanley to the north. From the pass, take on the long trail passing the rock shelter at Bujongolo, the base camp for the historic expedition by the Duke of Abruzzi in 1906.Dinner and Overnight at Guy Yeoman Hut.
Day 13: Nyabitaba (2650m)
Take on the path down to Nyabitaba hut. The path can be slippery and muddy and therefore requires careful balancing over the vertical mud or steep rock. Remember this is part of the adventure with in this mountain. Dinner and Overnight at Nyabitaba Hut
Day 14: Nyakalengija trailhead (1600m)
Descend gently down the muddy paths to the trailhead, finally arriving in Kasese towards lunch time. After having lunch in Kasese, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park. Proceed to the Kazinga channel for a launch cruise where you may see a wide variety of animals such as hippos, elephants, solitary buffaloes and a vast array of birds come to drink. Day 15: Queen Elizabeth – Bwindi impenetrable National Park
Wake up before sunrise to a cup of tea or a glass of water and then set off to the park tracks for a game drive to be able to see predators as they return to their hide outs and the early risers. During the drive watch out for game like the Leopards, Lions, giant forest hogs, hyenas, Uganda kobs, warthogs and others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for heavy breakfast and then later have lunch to transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National park through Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth famous for tree climbing lions. Arrival in Bwindi for dinner and overnight at Nkuringo gorilla Campsite /Buhoma Community Bandas / Bwindi view Bandas / Kisoro Tourist hotel (FB)
Day 16: Gorilla tracking – Village walk
Have an early morning breakfast and report to the ranger station, after a short briefing by the guides, proceed through the undergrowth and thick creepers of the dense rain forest to track for these endangered mammals. Sitting with the most peaceful, rarest and endangered of all the apes, is a fascinating experience. After 1 hour allowed with the giants, return to the lodge.

Day 17: The Little Switzerland of Africa – Lake Bunyonyi
After having breakfast, we shall take a scenic drive to Kabale taking you through the beautiful terrain of the rolling hills with terraced landscape. The scenery and the cool temperatures have awarded this area to be referred to as the “Switzerland of Africa since it nearly resembles the Swiss Alps. We shall have a convenient stopover at the Bakiga Museum in Kabale to discover the culture of the people living in the area. After having lunch, take a boat ride on Africa’s second deepest lake. The boat ride will take you to various islands for bird viewing and sight seeing. Dinner and overnight at Arcadia Cottages / Nature’s Prime Island/ Bunyonyi Over land Camp/ Bunyonyi Safari Resort.
Day 18: Lake Mburo National Park
After breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park, the smallest savanna national park in Uganda. Reaching Mbarara by lunch time, have lunch at Lake View Regency Hotel. Take an evening game drive through the park. On the drive you expect seeing beautiful impalas, cape buffalos, zebras, oribis, elands and topi. Along with the game drive, many visitors also enjoy a boat trip on Lake Mburo. A number of acacia associated and water birds can also be seen in the park. These include Papyrus gonoleks, Brown-faced lapwings, Carrutheris cisticolas, the extraordinary White winged Warbler and Bare-faced Go-away bird. Day 19: Lake Mburo NP – Kampala
Start your day with an early morning game drive through the park and later return to the lodge for breakfast. Go for a guided nature walk to the salt lick area where there is a blind observatory animal that can allow you to see more than four different animal species licking salt from the salty soils. After having lunch, relax at the hotel as you await your Dinner and Overnight at Mantana Tented Camp / Arcadia Cottages.
Day 20: Transfer back Kampala
Morning breakfast, embark on the drive back to Kampala having a stopover at the Equator for some photos arriving in Kampala late evening. Arrival and Transfer to your Hotel for your Dinner and Overnight at Cassia Lodge Hotel / Redchilli Hideaway Camp / Back Packers. (FB) OR Transfer to Entebbe Airport for Outbound Flight Home.
